1st Gainsborough Girls' Brigade is a diverse company, accepting girls aged 5 to 18 years old.
We currently run sections for all of the Girls' Brigade age ranges, from Explorers (starting at five years of age) through to Juniors, Seniors, and then Brigaders.
We meet on Fridays, (during term time), in the upstairs Hall at the Gainsborough Methodist Church.
- Explorers (5 - 8 yrs) - 6:30 - 7:45 pm
- Juniors (8 - 11 yrs) - 6:30 - 7:45 pm
- Seniors (11 - 14 yrs) - 7:00 - 9:00 pm
- Brigaders (14 - 18 yrs) - 7:00 - 9:00 pm
The company is staffed by volunteers but other costs arise. These include obligatory insurance cover and often the purchase of materials for the activities.
For these reasons the company charges all girls a subscription - currently £1.50 a week.

The motto of the Girls' Brigade is -
"Seek, Serve & Follow Christ".
Therefore an important part of working with the girls involves providing them with the opportunity to experience Jesus, and truly come to know what it means in their own lives to seek, serve and follow him.
Through this, we also achieve our main aim -
"Girls' lives transformed; God's world enriched".
It is important to us that our girls and young women enjoy spending time with their friends each week - taking part, getting to know one another, increasing their confidence, gaining new skills and building their faith.
This is brought about through a range of activities and badge work. All activities are based around fun, fellowship, and discipleship.
That stated, there are specific aspects that the girls should cover to ensure that they achieve their awards/badges. The four key areas that they are required to complete to gain badges are "Spiritual, Educational, Physical and Service".
Overall we work towards the goal that each member has a chance to do new and different things, challenge themselves and gain recognition for their achievements.
We are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our members so that they can participate in a relaxed and secure atmosphere.
Therefore we follow the safeguarding and child protection policies of the Church and all workers have the required DBS checks and have undertaken the correct and appropriate training.
It may also be acknowledged that parental permission will always be obtained to use an image of a young person, and no images of our girls are placed onto social media.
